Cold Plunge Pool (Ice Bath)
Ubud, Bali
The most exhilarating 30 seconds of your day. Our cold plunge pool and ice bath is maintained at 7–10°C — where contrast therapy actually works, and where most guests become quietly addicted.
Cold that changes things.
Not ice cold enough to cause shock, not warm enough to comfort — 7–10°C is the therapeutic zone. Our ice bath is cold enough to produce a full physiological response: rapid vasoconstriction, adrenaline, endorphins, and the clarity that follows.
Most guests go in expecting to hate it. Most guests come back for a second round.

Why cold works.
Vasoconstriction & flush. Cold rapidly constricts blood vessels, pushing blood from extremities back to core organs. When you warm up again, fresh oxygenated blood floods back through — flushing metabolic waste.
Inflammation reduction. Cold exposure reduces inflammatory markers in muscle tissue. This is why athletes use ice baths after training — and why guests with muscle soreness often feel dramatically better after a cold plunge session.
Endorphin release. Cold triggers a significant endorphin response. The euphoria many guests describe after exiting the cold pool is real, measurable, and lasts for hours.
Mental clarity. The combination of controlled breathing and cold exposure activates the prefrontal cortex. Guests consistently describe feeling unusually clear, focused, and calm after the cold plunge — sometimes for the rest of the day.
Skin tone. Repeated cold exposure improves skin tone and reduces puffiness. It's one reason contrast therapy is so effective as a complement to the Korean scrub — the scrub removes, the cold tones.

How to do the cold plunge well
The cold plunge rewards preparation and patience. A few things that help:
Warm up first. Always enter the cold plunge after the steam room and hot pool — never cold first. The contrast is the point.
Use the sandglass. A sandglass is provided at the poolside. It removes the distraction of counting seconds and lets you focus on breathing instead.
Breathe slowly. The instinct is to gasp. Resist it. Slow, controlled exhales calm the nervous system within about 10 seconds of entry.
Start with 30 seconds. Stay until the sandglass runs — typically 30–60 seconds. Your second round will feel significantly easier than your first.
Do 2–3 rounds. The benefit accumulates with each contrast cycle. Most guests do 2–3 rounds before a treatment, or 3–4 on a standalone facilities session.
About the cold plunge
Is 7–10°C really that cold?
Yes — it's genuinely cold. Most people find the first 10–15 seconds the hardest. After that, the body adapts and it becomes tolerable, then interesting, then enjoyable. By the second round, most guests look forward to it.
Is it mandatory?
Not at all. The cold plunge is entirely optional. But guests who try it — even reluctantly — almost always include it in subsequent visits. It's the element guests most frequently mention in reviews.
Is it safe for everyone?
Cold water immersion is generally safe for healthy adults. If you have cardiovascular conditions, Raynaud's disease, cold urticaria, are pregnant, or have other medical concerns, please consult your doctor first. When in doubt, start with just your feet and hands before full immersion.
How is the temperature maintained at 7–10°C in Bali's heat?
Our cold plunge system uses a dedicated chiller unit that continuously maintains the pool temperature regardless of ambient conditions. The consistency is part of what makes contrast therapy effective — you can rely on the cold being cold.
Can I use the cold plunge without booking a treatment?
Yes. Standalone facilities access (all three facilities) is IDR 300,000 +10% VAT for 2 full hours — plenty of time for multiple rounds of contrast therapy (hot plunge → cold plunge → steam → repeat). Book here →
