Facilities — steam room + hot & cold plunge pools

Boreh works best on warm, open skin. The steam room and plunge pools prepare the body to receive the paste fully — the heat opens pores and the contrast therapy primes circulation before the treatment begins.

Boreh herbal spice scrub

The warm Boreh paste is applied across the entire body and worked in with firm, circular strokes at our Ubud spa. The spices create a steady internal warmth that builds over the session. The ginger and clove ease muscle tension, the turmeric nourishes the skin, and the rice powder gently exfoliates. By the end of the 60 minutes, your body feels fundamentally different — warmer, looser, more settled.

What you walk away with

Muscle tension relief — The spice blend is specifically chosen for its warming, muscle-easing properties. Highly effective for chronic tension in the back, shoulders, and legs.

Circulation & warmth — Ginger, clove, and turmeric are all vasodilators — they stimulate blood flow and create lasting warmth from the outside in.

Genuine Balinese tradition — Boreh is not a tourist adaptation. It's an actual Balinese healing practice, applied here by therapists who know the technique.

Skin nourishment — Turmeric has documented anti-inflammatory and skin-brightening properties. The rice powder provides gentle exfoliation. Both leave skin visibly nourished.

Aromatic restoration — The scent of warm Boreh — earthy, spiced, deeply herbal — is one of the most distinctive sensory experiences in Balinese wellness.

Questions

About boreh

What guests usually ask before booking.

What does Boreh smell like?

Warm, earthy, and spiced — turmeric, ginger, and clove with a background of rice. Most guests find it deeply comforting and very distinctly Balinese.

Will it stain?

Turmeric can leave a very slight yellow tint immediately after treatment, which fades within a few hours. Avoid white clothing immediately after.

Is Boreh the same as a regular body scrub?

No — a regular scrub is primarily exfoliation. Boreh is primarily therapeutic warmth and healing through spice penetration, with exfoliation as a secondary effect. The experience and outcome are quite different.

Can I upgrade to the full Balinese Bliss treatment?

Yes — Balinese Bliss is the 3-hour full treatment built around the Boreh. It surrounds the scrub with bubble massage, volcanic wrap, facial, and a 60-minute Balinese massage.
