Hot. Cold. Steam.
The elements await.
Ubud's largest hot and cold plunge pools, a steam room, and the full science of contrast therapy — all in the heart of the jungle.
Why contrast therapy
actually works
Switching between heat and cold is one of the oldest recovery methods. Turkish hammams, Scandinavian saunas, Korean bathhouses, and Japanese onsens have used it for centuries. Modern science now backs what those traditions always knew.
Heat opens blood vessels and relaxes muscles. Cold closes them fast, flushes waste, cuts inflammation, and releases endorphins. The contrast between the two is where the real benefit happens.
At Hesa, the order matters: steam first, hot pool to deepen the warmth, cold pool to shock and refresh. You'll feel it after one round.

Large, filtered, and heated to therapeutic warmth. Surrounded by greenery with views across both pools. The ideal place to begin or return to between cold plunges.

Exhilarating and genuinely addictive after the first session. Spacious enough to fully immerse. Most guests stay 30–90 seconds per round. A sandglass is provided.

Spacious, with views over both pools. Opens pores, loosens muscle tension, and preps you for any treatment or cold plunge.

No strict rules, but this is the sequence most guests settle into. It gives the best results.
Steam room — 10–15 min
Start here. Steam opens your pores and relaxes muscles. Take your time. Breathe slowly. Let the heat work before you move on.
Hot plunge — 5–10 min
Move to the hot pool to deepen the warmth. Submerge fully if you can. The water's buoyancy adds a level of relaxation the steam room can't match.
Cold plunge — 30–90 sec
Take the cold plunge. Use the sandglass provided. The first few seconds are the hardest — then your body adapts. Exit when you feel alert and clear. Repeat 2–3 rounds.
Come for the pools.
Just the pools.
No treatment today? Book two hours of standalone access — hot pool, cold pool, steam room. Plenty of time for multiple rounds: hot plunge, cold plunge, steam, repeat.
Many Ubud locals use this as a weekly reset. Two hours, and you'll feel physically and mentally restored.
Treatment bookings include 30 minutes of facilities access for light preparation or a short post-treatment session — not the full contrast therapy experience.

Tips for first-timers
What to bring
Just a swimsuit. We provide towels, sarongs, toiletries, lockers, hair dryers, and bags for wet swimwear.
The cold plunge
It's colder than you expect — 7–10°C. Start with 30 seconds. Breathe slowly. Don't fight the cold; let your body adjust. Most guests stay longer on the second round.
Water quality
All pool and steam water is multi-filtered to high standards. Tap water is for washing only, not drinking. We provide mineral water and infused water (lime, mint, cucumber) throughout the spa.
Arriving with a treatment
Treatment bookings include 30 minutes of facilities access. Steam room and plunge pools are built into the timing. For multiple rounds of contrast therapy, book standalone access (2 hours).
How long to stay
Standalone access gives you 2 full hours. Most guests do 3–4 cycles of hot, cold, and steam. A sandglass at each pool helps you track cold plunge time.
Groups & couples
Groups of any size are welcome. Contact us via WhatsApp for larger parties. We manage guest flow to keep things calm. Most of the time you'll share with just 1–2 other guests. For the quietest sessions, book at 09:00 or 19:00.
